One plate (supplement for July-August) from Belgian magazine L’Échiquier 1931 showing Rudolf Spielmann at the chessboard.
Signed by Spielmann in green pen, dated Prag 15. XII. 1935. Size 24 x 15.5 cm. The weight 20 grams.
Very good: minor signs of use, no flaws.
Biographical data:
Rudolf Spielmann (1883-1942), Austria, was one of the world's best chess players in the first third of the 20th century. He was an attacking style player and was nicknamed the Last Romantic. His book Richtig opfern (The Art of Sacrifice) is still popular today.
