Typed letter signed by Hans Werner von Massow to Bohumil Penizka, dated Dresden, 21. Oktober 1938.
Letter with the IFSB header, one full page, signed by von Massow in pen. The weight 10 grams.
Good to very good: 2x centre fold, minor signs of use, no flaws.
At the time the letter was written, Hans-Werner von Massow was General Secretary of the IFSB. The text of the letter can be found in picture 3.
Biographical data:
Hans-Werner von Massow (1912-1988), one of the most known correspondence chess players and organizers. One of the founders of the IFSB in (Internationalen Fernschachbund) in 1928, President of the ICCF in 1960-1987.
Bohumil Penizka (1873-1939), chairman of the Czechoslovak Chess Union (UJCS) 1909-1913 and 1925-1939, honorary member of FIDE (1931), chess organizer (Prague chess olympiad 1931).
