DESCRIPTION
Original colour mini photo from the game Kavalek - Sigurjonsson played in Caracas 1970. Size 4,5 x 4,5 cm.
The position on the board is after black's 40th move (40..a5). Kavalek is thinking about the last move of the game (41. Qe3), after which black resigned. As you can see in the photo, Kavalek is already playing under the American flag, although he started the tournament as a Czechoslovakian. The Caracas tournament was one of Lubosh Kavalek's greatest successes. He won the tournament ahead of Stein and Panno.
