Grondijs, Harrie: Chess Craze Bad Volume VII:
Chess Craze Bad Volume VII: This gentle disease of bibliomania. (Maastricht), De Groene Loper, 2020. Orig. hardcover with a dust jacket. 274 pages, color + b/w photos and illustrations. Limited edition of 37 numbered copies, signed by the author. This is copy no. 27. Size 25.5 cm. 730 grams. In English.
The 7th volume of the Chess Craze Bad contains about 70 letters written by Tassilo von der Lasa to George Allen (and by George Allen to Tassilo von der Lasa) mainly between 1857 and 1865. The book also contains several letters from George Allen to Daniel Willard Fiske or letters from Fiske to Allen. Accompanied with detailed name index and author's comments.
Harrie Grondijs wrote many books, his favorite themes are the endgame studies and the history of chess. His books are of high quality regarding both the content and form. Most of his works are published in low editions, usually numbered and signed by the author - this is a reason why Grondijs books almost do not appear in the market.
Condition: Bottom of the spine is slightly bumped with little effect to the dustcover as well. Overall Assessment = Very Good!
Postage EUR (insurance included): Non-EU countries please ask! I try to choose the most cost-effective yet reliable way.
I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.
I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels to Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.
Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipping costs will be the same as for 1 book.
Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
P.S.: Bibliographical data and description taken from the initial lot by Mr Karel Mokry.
