DESCRIPTION

Albin, Adolph. Schach - Aphorismen und Reminiscenzen

Hannover, Selbstverlag, (1899). Original dark red cloth edition with blind embossed chessboard on the front cover and gold embossed Title. Albin portrait with tissue guard sheet + 4 leaves unnumbered + 112 pages, with a green ribbon bookmark. 17,5 x 12 cm. In German.

The Romanian master and theorist A. Albin (1847 - 1920) had some strong performances in tournaments and in the 1890's introduced the countergambit that bears his name into tournament practice. This edition contains entertaining chess aphorisms, some of Albin's tournament games (including the tournament in Dresden 1892, New York 1893, Hastings 1895), the "Schachcomödie zu Nürnberg" and final positions.

Condition: Binding with slight wear. Spine sunbleached. Former owner exlibris on inner lid. Paper browned. Games department with marginalia - see pictures. Overall = Still Good!

Postage EUR (insurance included): Non-EU countries please ask! I try to choose the most cost-effective yet reliable way.

I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.

I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels to Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight is limited to 10 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.

  1. PM 045 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel is added max. 45 cm) GER=€10,79, other EU = €14,19
  2. PM 070 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel is added max. 70 cm) GER=€16,24, other EU = €19,69
  3. PM 120 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 120 cm) GER=€21,69, other EU = €25,19

Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipping costs will be the same as for 1 book.

Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
