Zadatchi i etyudy no.1-8 - Problem and endgames - were published during 1927-30. Publishing ended in 1930 after number 8, when its editor chess composer L. B. Zalkind was persecuted by the Soviet regime and arrested. (L/N 6330. Sakharov I 705.) In 1995, after a 65-year break, the Zadatchi i Etyudy continued with number 9 and run up to the present.
