Tartakower, Bréviaire des échecs, signed:
Tartakower, Xavier (Savielly Grigorievich). Bréviaire des échecs. Paris, Stock, 1934. 8°. Avec 122 diagrams. XII, 318 pages. Originally stapled. L/N 1607. Rare edition in French. Private binding with parts of the former cover glued on front, spine and bound in at the end of the book.
With two autograph dedications to the Dutch chess master and former president of the Dutch Chess Federation Gerard Cornelis Adrianus Oskam. The first is dated Paris, 19.10.1934 and the second is dated Zandvoort, 28.07.1936 (on the same day Tartakower drew at the Zandvoort tournament with Maroczy).
The author (1887 - 1956) is of great importance as a chess writer. Dedicated copies from him are rarely commercially available.
Condition: Binding with wear, corners bumped. First pages with foxing. Two bookplates on inner lid and first endpaper. A bibliograpic note label on last lid. Paper browned. Otherwise inside nice and clean. Overall = Good!
Postage EUR (insurance included): Non-EU countries please ask! I try to choose the most cost-effective yet reliable way.
I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.
I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels to Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight is limited to 10 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.
Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipping costs will be the same as for 1 book.
Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
P.S.: Bibliographical data taken from the KWABC (http://www.kwabc.org/) database maintained by Mr Per Skjoldager (PS).
