Contains 70 games (many of them are annotated) by Shiyanovsky in which he defeated Geller, Stein, Tal, Averbakh, Bannik, Tukmakov, Klovans, Kholmov, Nezhmetdinov, Bagirov and others.
Shiyanovsky Vladislav (1929 - 2006) – Ukrainian chess player, master of sports of the USSR since 1957. Professor of Kyiv State University. Participant of 13 final parts of the championships of Ukraine (silver medalist of the championships of Ukraine in 1958 and 1961). Participant of two finals of the USSR championships. At USSR youth championship in 1947 Vladislav took 2nd place behind Viktor Korchnоi.
He was the coach of Viktor Korchnoi during his final match of candidates against Boris Spassky, that held in Kyiv in 1968.
