Very good: Minimal defects on the dust jacket such as a small tear on the top outside corner of the dust jacket, as well as slight general browning on the edges of the pages. Otherwise the book is in great condition.

According to the book: "The fourteen chapters are organized according to the number and types of pieces directly involved in the creation of the mating scheme-Rook and Knight, Queen and Bishop, etc. At the end of each chapter, thematic examples for independent study are given."
Despite the title, the book is a Tactics Treatise in which Mikhail Tal analyzes other players' positions, and at the end of each chapter there is a section on Tactics Problems, in total 271. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful book in the that we are instructed in the World of Combination by perhaps the greatest combinator of all time.
