All games from the tournament extensively annotated, round by round reports, interviews, many diagrams and photos, caricatures of players by Czech illustrator Otakar Masek.
The book is signed by GM Vlastimil Jansa on the title page.
Prague 1990 was the first international chess tournament in Czechoslovakia after the fall of communism as a tribute to democracy. The tournament was held on the initiative of Lubomir Kavalek and with the assistance of the World Grandmaster Association GMA and its chairman Bessel Kok from 27 August to 2 September 1990 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Prague. The tournament was under the auspices of President Vaclav Havel, who played his famous game against Bessel Kok at the opening of the tournament.
Participants of the tournament were Jan Timman, Nigel Short, Vlastimil Hort, Lubomir Kavalek, Jan Smejkal and Lubomir Ftacnik. The main commentator was Vlastimil Jansa. During the tournament there was a GMA meeting and some of its members played a simul against the public (Bent Larsen, Alexander Beliavsky, Ljubomir Ljubojevic, Jan Timman, Nigel Short, Bachar Kouatly)
