Mikes – Pithart
carbon copy of a scoresheet
from the international tournament Vimperk 1949
signed (also through carbon) by both players
The scoresheet is dated July 15, 1949. The game was played in the 9th round. Written in Pithart's hand, signed (through carbon) by both players. Size 25.5 x 17 cm.
Good condition: some signs of use, top edge somewhat creased.
Pithart won in 38 moves.
Biographical data:
Mikes, Czech chess player.
Frantisek Pithart (1915-2003), Czech master (since 1951) and noted trainer. One of the best Czech players after wws. He participated many times in the finals of Czechoslovak championships - his best results were 2x shared third place in 1955 and 1965. He represented Czechoslovakia in the chess olympiad Helsinki 1952 and in European team championship 1957. Author of many books and articles.
