Løfberg: Larsen 2 (1966-1972) Deluxe edition
The second volume in Jan Løfberg's magnum opus about grandmaster Bent Larsen has been released.
1112 pages about Bent Larsen's very best chess years from 1966-1972. During this period, he won tournaments at a pace not seen before. That is why he was called the world's best tournament player.
564 of Bent Larsen's 565 registered games – a single game is missing – from these seven years are included in this volume. The game collection is therefor almost complete.
The vast majority of games are with the grandmaster's knowledgeable comments. The big showdowns against legends such as Bobby Fischer, Boris Spassky, Tigran Petrosyan, Viktor Korchnoi, Mikhail Tal and Lajos Portisch are commented on and analyzed thoroughly.
Significant events and episodes from the chess master's life are also unfolded. On and off the chessboard, conflicts arose with Bent Larsen as a part. Sometimes he innocently ended up in the disputes, other times he sought them with an open forehead. These controversies are detailed in separate chapters.
