VG, d/w (jacket yellowed on spine and with slight paper loss at the top). 320pp. 100 games with light notes, crosstables, and full biography. With a bookplate and signature of Sir Richard Clarke, KCB, OBE. Clarke was a high-ranking civil servant and also devised the BCF grading system. Includes a copy of a letter from Clarke to Fraenkel praising the book and pointing out some corrections, and a reply from Fraenkel to Clarke mentioning he hoped to use his excellent suggestions in the case of a second edition.
