"The Rookie: An odyssey through chess (and life)" by Stephen Moss. Published in hardback by Bloomsbury in 2016. First Edition. 408pp. The book and its dustjacket are in Very Good condition. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are very clean and unmarked. The silver lettering on the spine is still strong. The page edge blocks are clean. Internally the book is in very clean condition. It has a gift dedication (presumably written by the author) on the title page but is otherwise annotation and foxing free. The dustjacket is in Very Good condition and suffers only from mild crumbling to the head of the spine (see scan). An entertaining jaunt through the chess world of a middling player. No games.
