History of chess in Liepaja, the 3rd biggest Latvian town, 1894-1944: chronologically arranged comments since 1894, tournaments and crosstables, biographical sketches of chess players and their selected games (K. Kupfer, K. Rosenkrancs, K. Lidums), chapters devoted to correspondence chess and chess composition, Latvian chess books and magazines of the time etc.
