Condition: Good: some general signs of use, no major flaws. Dust jacket is missing.

Jan Foltys (1908-1952) was Czech IM, a strong master of the 1930s and 1940s. Czech champion in 1940 and 1943, he played three times in the Olympiads (1936, 1937, 1939), his greatest success was probably the third place in Podebrady 1936 (after Flohr and Alekhine), he came third in Prague 1942 (1.-2. Alekhine, Junge). This is the only book about him.

Full title of this book means in English: Jan Foltys, International Chess Master. The Life Work. The books includes:

  • more than 400 Foltys' games (all known) 
  • almost all games are annotated
  • crosstables of all Foltys' tournaments
  • 2 endgame studies composed by Jan Foltys
  • indexes of players and openings
