Kotrc, Jan / Traxler, Karel: Sachove ulohy z let 1884-1910. Viden (Wien), published by the authors, 1910. Orig. cloth with no dust jacket, as issued. Pagination is as follows: Half-title, title, (4), XLIV, (4), 1 plate (photo Jan Kotrc), 110, (2), 1 plate (photo Karel Traxler), 137, (57), III, (1 blank) pages. Size 17x13 cm. The weight 450 grams. LN 2605, Soukup 62, Mokry 64. In Czech, title page simultaneously in German and English. Introduction (XLIV pages) in both Czech and German.

Good to very good: edges and corners a little rubbed. Small stain on the front cover. Internally clean with no writings.

First part of the book is a general article about a history and terminology of chess problems, with 56 examples of various authors (text in Czech and German). Follow 247 (110 + 137) problems by Czech composers - Jan Kotrc (1862-1943) and Karel Traxler (1866-1936). By the way, Kotrc and Traxler were brothers-in-law. Includes 2 plates with photos of both composers.

Most of presented problems are 3-movers. Each problem has a full-page diagram, year and place of first appearance. Solutions with comments as well as the list of 89 subscribers of the book are at the end.
