The British Miscellany & Chess Player’s Chronicle 1841. Vol. 1. 1 May to 23 Oct. 1841. Complete. XVIII, 416 pages. XVIII pages and 1 plate (photocopy) printed verso on the Automation Chess Player. Some diagrams. Descriptive notation. Index, two pages published on pp. 415-416. Staunton took over at the start of May and made it a weekly chess magazine, dropping the "British Miscellany" tag (and occasional non-chess content) after this, first volume.
Condition: Privately bound in grey cloth with gilt print on spine. Plate with Automation Chess Player is a photocopy, nicely bound in. First and last pages are partly loose near the spine. VG.
