Czech composer Frantisek Hladik
(1901 – 1971)
autographed letter signed
dated Plzen, 15. VIII. 1940
The letter is beginning Mily pane kolego (=Dear Mr Colleague). The recipient is unknown, my guess is that it was Czech composer Ilja Mikan.
Author informs about 2 chess problems published in the chess column of Cesky denik in Plzen (Pilsen), with solutions.
1 sheet size 28 x 21 cm, text on one page, 2 stamped diagrams. Signed by F. Hladik in pen, dated Plzen, 15. VIII. 1940.
Two archive holes at left margin, else Good to very good: light horizontal and vertical centre fold, light general signs of use.
Biographical data:
Frantisek Hladik (1901-71), one of representatives of the Bohemian Chess Problem School, author of some 300 problems, his speciality was theory of logical problems. Co-autor of the book Sbirka uloh plzenskych autoru.
