The Sphinx at Play Issue 3 :
A monthly Journal of problems and divers recreations. Edited by Hubert Phillips. Sequel to "The Puzzler". The chess column was run by C. Mansfield. The magazine was published from 06/1934-12/1934 (Source : Ken Whyld, Chess Columns p.413). The lot contains issue 3 with 30 pages (66-96) with index. Enclosed is a typed and signed letter from H. Phillips written on the letterpaper with "The Puzzler" logo. Recipient was Dr. P.C. van Arkel. The letter is dated 10.09.1934. Also enclosed is a 4 page advertisement with the chess column of issue 1.
Condition : the letter is folded once with little browning, the 4 pages advertisement with little wear to the edges. The magazine with chipping on the upper and lower spine, stapled with small rusty spots in the middle, owner stamp on the index, a few small red pencil strokes. Overall Assessment = Good!

One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.

- PM 070 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 70 cm) GER=€14,90, other EU = €17,90
- PM 120 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 120 cm) GER=€19,90, other EU = €22,90
Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipment costs will be the same as for 1 book.
