Chess World, 1948. Vol 3.
Starts In remaining
All twelve issues of "Chess World" magazine (edited by Cecil Purdy) for the year 1948. Volume 3. Includes index. Nine of the 11 issues are in Good Plus condition for their age. The January issue is in Good condition (feels a little fragile and has discolouration to cover extremities) while the December issue is in only Fair condition with clean pages but the rear cover and index page are detached (see scan). All magazines appear to be inscription, annotation and foxing free. A little thumbing evident to covers but nothing too unsightly. Paper quality was variable so soon after WW2 but it certainly compares favourably to the UK chess magazines of this era. The paper quality picks up considerably from the July issue onwards. No bleeding to staples. Quite fragile. Condition Rating: 6.5/10. Any questions, please just ask.
