Four vintage chess clocks. Spares/repairs.
Starts In remaining
Four vintage, analogue chess clocks for spares/repairs. As follows:
1. A nice old (1940s?) BCM clock in dark brown Bakelite. It has the sticker of a chess clock in Bulwell (Notts, England) on the top. Cosmetic condition is Good for its age. Problems include: No glass to either clock face and one missing hand winder.
***Both clocks start properly when their button is pressed and both appear to keep reasonable time. That said, when I first took this clock out of storage, the left had dial used to start and then stop after a few minutes but now it's running OK. [Latest update: After running for a few hours, left hand clock stopped overnight and needed cajoling to re-start in the morning. Has now re-started and is running normally again]. The right hand dial has run correctly since storage. As a vintage mechanical piece this clock would obviously do with a clean and oiling***
2. A BHB clock (1970s?) in light brown plastic. Cosmetic condition is Very Good for its age. Both clocks run strongly but lose a minute or so an hour. Fine if you're only using the clock for blitz chess but not for a classical game. Hopefully all they need is a clean and oiling.
3. A "CHESS, Sutton Coldfield" clock (1980s?). In Good cosmetic condition for its age. The right hand clock runs correctly but when the right hand button is pressed BOTH clocks run together. Again, I have no idea of the extent of repair work required to correct this problem or if, indeed, it is repairable.
4. Another "CHESS Sutton Coldfield" clock of similar design to (3). Cosmetic condition is poor. Old sellotape on the front face. Clocks start when buttons pressed but stop almost immediately. As stated above, all these clocks are offered as Spares or Repairs and are sold as seen. No returns. Any questions, please just ask.
