Mikhail Emmanuilovich Trosman (April 5, 1929, Zhytomyr — December 20, 2011, New York City) was a Soviet chess player and a Candidate Master of Sports, as well as an Honored Coach of the Ukrainian SSR.
He achieved significant success as a chess coach. Grandmaster Mikhalschishin described Trosman as “the founder of the Zhytomyr school of chess.”
Over the years, his students included grandmasters Dorfman, Alexander Huzman, Sergey Krivosheya, and Alexander Lenderman, as well as international masters Yuri Boydman and Eduard Groberman. Trosman also worked with Irina Krush.
From 1993 onward, he lived in the United States.
