Karpov describes in his own words his rise to the top of the Chess Ladder: Workd Junior Champion at 18-Grandmaster at 19 and World Chess Champion at 23. As well as the biographical material, the book includes a large selection of Karpov's finest games, annotated by the Champion himself. It is well illustrated throughout, most of the photographs being previiously unpublished.
