Description

In Czech, 32 pages, some colour.

Československý šach (Czechoslovak Chess) is a Czechoslovak, or rather Czech, specialized chess magazine.

It was founded in 1906 under the name Časopis českých šachistů (Magazine of Czech Chess Players) as the successor to České listy šachové and Šachové listy. From 1920, it was published under the title Časopis československých šachistů, and since 1927, it has been published under its current name (during the Nazi occupation between 1939 and 1945, it was published under the title Šach).

This makes it the second oldest magazine in the world to have been published for such a duration without interruption. The name was not changed even after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993. The first volume was edited by Jan Dobruský, Oldřich Duras, and Václav Kautský.
