Postcard sent by Dutch WGM Corry Vreeken to Czech WGM Kveta Eretova from the 1st International German Women's Chess Championship, held in Bad Kissingen in September and October 1977. 

The text is written in German:  „Liebe Kveta. Ich hoffe es geht Dir etwas besser mit der Gesundheit. Wir haben gerade unser Turnier beendet. Schul USSR 1, 2.3.4. waren junge Deutsche. Ich habe 50 %, habe wieder viele gewonnene Partien verpatzt! Viele Grüsse von Peter und Corry Vreeken und:“ 

English translation: "Dear Kveta. I hope you are doing a bit better with your health. We have just finished our tournament. Schul USSR 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th were young Germans. I scored 50%, once again blundered away many winning games! Many greetings from Peter and Corry Vreeken and:"

Short bio of the named players:

Corry Vreeken (1928-2025) - Dutch Honorary Woman Grandmaster. One of the most prominent figures in Dutch women's chess during the 1960s and 1970s. Five-time Dutch Women's Champion (1960, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1970) and long-time national team player at the Women's Chess Olympiads.

Marta Shul - Litinskaya (born 1949) - Woman Grandmaster and winner of the Bad Kissingen 1977 tournament. Soviet Women's Champion in 1972, Candidates Tournament participant, and World Senior Women's Champion in 2002.

Milka Ljiljak - Ankerst (born 1942) - Slovenian / Yugoslav Woman International Master. Five-time Slovenian Women's Champion and Yugoslav Women's Champion in 1964. Regular participant in international women's tournaments throughout the 1960s and 1970s. 

Hannelore Weichert (1942 - † unknown) - one of the leading West German women chess players of the 1960s and 1970s. Two-time runner-up at the West German Women's Championship (1974, 1976) and multiple-time Bavarian and Hessian Champion. She represented West Germany at three Women's Chess Olympiads (1969, 1976, 1978), winning a team bronze medal in Buenos Aires 1978.

Hanna Erenska (born 1946) - Polish Woman Grandmaster (WGM, 1981) – the first Polish female player to achieve the WGM title. Five-time Polish Women's Champion (1971, 1972, 1977, 1979, 1980). Representing Poland at eight Chess Olympiads (1972–1992), she won an individual silver medal at Skopje 1972, as well as team and individual bronze medals at La Valletta 1980. Later in her career, she became World Senior Women's Champion in 2007. 

Edit Krizsán-Bilek (born 1938) - Hungarian Woman International Master and Hungarian Women's Chess Champion (1958). Representing Hungary at three Women's Chess Olympiads, she won an individual silver medal on board two at Oberhausen 1966 and a team bronze medal at Skopje 1972. 

Kveta Eretova (1926–2021)  - Czechoslovak Woman Grandmaster (WGM, 1986). A legend of Czech women's chess, ten-time Czechoslovak Women's Champion. She twice competed in the Women's World Championship Candidates Tournament (Plovdiv 1959, Sukhumi 1964) and represented Czechoslovakia at five Chess Olympiads (1957–1974), winning an individual silver medal at Emmen 1957, as well as team and individual bronze medals at Lublin 1969.

Condition - Good to Very Good: Postally used (sent with stamp and Bad Kissingen postmark). Minor handling wear along the edges, light corner creases/browning consistent with age.
