Description

Ceskoslovensky sach 1935. Oficialni organ Ustredni jednoty ceskoslovenskych sachistu. Praha. Monthly. In Czech. Editors: K. Zmatlik, J. Louma, A. Pokorny, L. Prokes, M. Soukup, V. Mrazik. Title page, index, 192, XX pages. Issues 1-12 (2/3, 4/5, 8/9 and 10/11 are double issues). Volume 29 (9). Covers not bound. LN 5985. Soukup 6. Mokry 239. Di Felice 471.

In 1927, the magazine changed its name, and the volume numbering restarted at 1. However, it was a continuation of Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu, so it is in fact the 29th annual volume. The volume numbering was finally standardized only in 1946.

The 1935 volume was published for the first time in a larger format (approx. 30 cm), a size that the magazine has retained to the present day. The special issue on the tournament in Luhacovice, published in August, is both a supplement to the magazine and a small tournament book. This supplement is sometimes missing from bound volumes because even subscribers to the magazine had to order and pay for it separately.

Ceskoslovensky sach is the main Czech chess magazine published continuously since 1906. The title changed over time mainly for political reasons: Casopis ceskych sachistu (1906–1919), Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu (1920–1926), Ceskoslovensky sach (1927–1938 and 1946–present), and Sach (1939–1945).

Condition - Very Good: Private half-cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine. Slight rubbing to the board edges.
