The magazine states volume 5, but it was in fact a continuation of Ceskoslovensky sach, making it the 37th annual volume. The volume numbering was finally standardized only in 1946.
Ceskoslovensky sach is the main Czech chess magazine published continuously since 1906. The title changed over time mainly for political reasons: Casopis ceskych sachistu (1906–1919), Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu (1920–1926), Ceskoslovensky sach (1927–1938 and 1946–present), and Sach (1939–1945).
Condition - Fair to Good: Elegant half-cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Occasional markings and spotting. A larger stain to the upper part of pages 1 and 2, not affecting the text – see photo. Several pages closely trimmed. Paper browned.
