Ceskoslovensky sach 1954. Praha. Monthly. In Czech. Editor: Jiri Podgorny. 196 + 96 pages. Issues 1-12 (8/9 is a double issue). Title page not issued. Index on pages 193-196. Volume 48. All covers bound in. Di Felice 470.
In 1953, a special supplement to Ceskoslovensky sach, entitled Turnajovy bulletin, began publication. It continued to be published until 1958. Five issues were published in 1953, and 12 issues in each of the following years. Turnajovy bulletin primarily provided reports from various tournaments, as well as annotated and unannotated games. In 1958, Turnajovy bulletin also included a chess problems section entitled Ulohy a studie (Problems and Studies), edited by Vladimir Pachman. Di Felice lists Turnajovy bulletin as a separate periodical under No. 2677.
From 1952 to 1968, the chess problems section was part of the magazine's regular pagination.
Ceskoslovensky sach is the main Czech chess magazine published continuously since 1906. The title changed over time mainly for political reasons: Casopis ceskych sachistu (1906–1919), Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu (1920–1926), Ceskoslovensky sach (1927–1938 and 1946–present), and Sach (1939–1945).
Condition - Very Good: Black full-cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine. Sporadic minor soiling and spotting. Most issues of Turnajovy bulletin have browned paper, and pages 7–8 have a tiny tear along the edge.
